Test Manager
Test strategy, quality gates and reporting for customer programmes — a delivery responsibility, not a people-management one.
Why this role exists
Holding the line between business, plan and evidence.
When we take over quality for a programme, someone has to hold the line between what the business wants, what the release plan allows and what the test estate can actually prove. That is this role. It is a delivery responsibility, not a people-management one — you steer the testing, not the headcount.
What you will do
The work.
- Own test strategy and planning for one or more customer programmes
- Define quality gates, entry and exit criteria, and the reporting that lets a steering committee decide
- Coordinate test execution across functional, automation and performance work
- Manage defect processes and UAT with business stakeholders
- Do risk-based prioritisation — decide what gets tested when the schedule shortens, and defend that decision
- Stay close enough to the technical work to know whether a green report means anything
What you bring
What we look for.
- At least five years in software testing, with at least two in test management or coordination
- Experience running testing in enterprise programmes with several parties involved
- ISTQB Advanced Level Test Manager, or the equivalent in practice with the willingness to certify
- Confident in front of business stakeholders — you can explain a quality risk to someone who does not want to hear it
- German and English at working level
Experience with SAP transformations, regulated environments or tool migrations is an advantage.
Compensation
What we pay.
The minimum salary under the Austrian IT collective agreement for this position (ST2, standard level) is EUR 4,611 gross per month, paid 14 times per year, for the Vienna-based role. We pay significantly above this depending on qualification and experience. For our locations in Hungary and Türkiye, compensation follows local market conditions.
